Job Description
  • Facility Operations
    • Oversee daily operations of the data center, ensuring optimal performance of all systems, including power distribution, cooling, and network infrastructure.
    • Implement and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain high levels of operational efficiency and uptime.
    • Monitor critical systems and respond to alarms and incidents, coordinating troubleshooting and repairs as necessary.
  • Maintenance and Infrastructure Management
    • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, fire suppression, and security systems.
    • Manage and oversee third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring that maintenance and repair work meets required standards and timelines.
    • Coordinate infrastructure upgrades and expansions, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of facility technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
    • Schedule and manage staff shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage of the data center.
    • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Emergency Management and Risk Mitigation
    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including disaster recovery, fire evacuation, and system failure protocols.
    • Conduct regular drills and training sessions to ensure team preparedness for emergency situations.
    • Identify and mitigate risks to data center operations, including potential equipment failures, security breaches, and environmental hazards.
  • Environmental and Energy Management
    • Monitor and optimize the data center's energy usage, implementing energy-saving initiatives to reduce costs and environmental impact.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices.
    • Analyze and report on power usage effectiveness (PUE) and other key performance indicators (KPIs) related to energy efficiency.
  • Security and Compliance
    • Oversee physical security measures, including access control, surveillance systems, and security personnel, to protect the data center and its assets.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, such as ISO 27001, SSAE 18, and other regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to conduct regular security and compliance assessments.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all facility systems, maintenance activities, and incident reports.
    • Provide regular reports to senior management on facility performance, including uptime, energy efficiency, and incident resolution.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive asset management system to track equipment lifecycle and maintenance history.
The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations or critical facility management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems, power distribution, HVAC, and fire suppression.
  • Experience with data center management tools and software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
