**Duties**:
As a member of the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service (FCS) Team at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, the incumbent will provide expert input on major activities and programs in the industry sectors assigned. The incumbent will develop expert-level knowledge in specific commercial sectors and establish broad contacts in the U.S. and Indonesian private sectors and within the Indonesian government. The selected individual will be responsible for delivering a wide range of export promotion services and commercial advocacy, counseling American clients on challenges and opportunities in the Indonesian market. Responsibilities will also include joint supervision of one commercial clerk to ensure the quality and timely capturing of performance measures and responsiveness to client requests.

**Qualifications and Evaluations**:

- Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: a minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in high Technology, Marketing, Business Management, Trade Promotion, Trade Policy, Commercial Banking or other Business experience.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have a recognized expert level of knowledge of Indonesia's economy, business customs and practices, marketing channels and Indonesia's laws, regulations and policies relating to trade and investment. Must have an expert level knowledge of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service trade promotion goals, programs, policies and procedures, including marketing strategies and reporting requirements. Must have a thorough knowledge of U.S. business practices, problems, requirements and activities.

Bachelor's degree is required.

LANGUAGE: Bahasa Indonesia and English level IV (fluent) is required. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES Optional: Must have expert ability to develop and maintain an extensive range of contacts from working level to senior level decision-makers in the Indonesian government and the private sector, to interrelate developments in the commercial field to broader political sociological, cultural and economic forces at work in Indonesia; to organize and monitor complex research projects on the assigned industries, and to prepare accurate and factual analytical reports on assigned industries. Must have ability to render advice with detachment of objectivity, employing sound and expert professional judgement. When appropriate the ability to train and supervise subordinate employees and other staff is required.
