We are partnering with a leading, multi-hospital healthcare group seeking an accomplished
Associate Director – Medical
to strengthen its corporate medical leadership team. This role plays a pivotal part in driving
clinical governance
,
medical excellence
, and
strategic operational oversight
across a wide hospital network.
This is a senior, high-impact position for a medical leader ready to influence system-wide standards, develop future medical talent, and elevate clinical quality across the Group.
Role Overview
The
Associate Director – Medical
supports the Chief of Medical in providing strategic direction, clinical oversight, and operational guidance for medical services across multiple hospitals. The role ensures consistent clinical governance, regulatory compliance, patient safety, medical workforce readiness, and continuous quality improvement across all units.
You will lead GM Medical across the network, align hospital operations with corporate goals, and champion a culture of clinical excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Clinical Governance
- Develop and execute corporate medical strategies and annual plans.
- Translate group-wide strategy into hospital-level operational directives.
- Establish and maintain clinical governance frameworks, policies, and SOPs.
- Ensure medical operations uphold the Group's vision, mission, and values.
Multi-Hospital Medical Operations
- Lead and evaluate GM Medical across hospitals.
- Review hospital medical work plans and ensure alignment with corporate direction.
- Monitor specialist coverage, bed utilization, capacity, and service availability.
- Coordinate cross-hospital resource support (e.g., coverage, telemedicine).
Quality of Care & Patient Safety
- Ensure implementation of KARS/JCI-aligned clinical quality and safety programs.
- Monitor mortality, morbidity, and clinical indicators.
- Lead audits, peer reviews, and M&M evaluations at Group level.
Medical Staff Management & Credentialing
- Oversee credentialing, privileging, and re-credentialing processes.
- Advise credentialing committees and handle escalated performance matters.
- Support recruitment, planning, and capability development of specialists and GPs.
- Foster a culture of professionalism and ethical medical practice.
Clinical Service Development & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to build new services and Centers of Excellence.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations on feasibility studies and business cases.
- Drive evidence-based practice, clinical pathways, and standardization initiatives.
- Support digital health adoption including telemedicine and EMR enhancement.
Regulatory, Financial & Operational Stewardship
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, licensing, and standards.
- Manage clinical risks and work with Legal/Risk teams on medico-legal matters.
- Provide medical input into budgeting, manpower planning, and procurement.
- Monitor cost-effectiveness of clinical services.
Stakeholder Leadership
- Build collaborative relationships with Hospital Directors, Nursing, Quality, and corporate teams.
- Maintain partnerships with regulatory bodies, associations, and KOLs.
People Leadership & Change Management
- Mentor GM Medical and medical leaders across the network.
- Facilitate Medical Leadership Forums and capability-building programs.
- Lead clinical transformation projects and ensure smooth adoption of new systems and policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Medical Doctor (MD) with valid national license required.
- Specialist background strongly preferred (e.g., Internal Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology).
- Additional qualifications in Hospital Management, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or MBA are an advantage.
Experience
- 10–12 years post-graduate experience.
- Minimum 5–7 years in senior medical leadership (GM Medical, Medical Director, HOD, Corporate Medical).
- Experience in multi-hospital networks or tertiary hospital operations preferred.
- Proven track record in clinical governance, accreditation, and medical workforce management.
Technical & Leadership Competencies
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, and KARS/JCI standards.
- Analytical capability to interpret clinical data and performance dashboards.
- Knowledge of medical SOPs, clinical pathways, and digital health tools.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High integrity, strong decision-making, resilience, and the ability to lead under pressure.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel between hospital units.
- Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
