The
Product Engineering Manager
oversees the design, development, and continuous improvement of cable harness products, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and production efficiency. This role bridges
product development
,
manufacturing
, and
quality assurance
to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and innovative cable harness solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Design

  • Lead the design and development of new cable harness products according to customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to translate customer requirements into producible designs.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of
    BOMs (Bill of Materials), drawings, and technical documentation
    .

Engineering Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and guide the engineering team to achieve project milestones.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Support process engineering and design validation activities.

Process Improvement & Optimization

  • Identify opportunities to improve product designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and reliability.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize assembly processes, tooling, and material usage.
  • Implement
    Lean Manufacturing
    or
    Six Sigma principles
    where applicable.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure products meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to investigate failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Procurement, Production, and Customer Service to address technical queries and support customer projects.
  • Participate in
    design reviews, project kick-offs, and client technical meetings
    .

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare technical reports, project status updates, and cost analysis.
  • Maintain engineering records, drawings, and revision histories accurately.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in
    Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
    .
  • Minimum
    5–8 years experience in product engineering
    , preferably in
    cable harness, automotive, or electronics manufacturing
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    cable harness design, materials, and manufacturing processes
    .
  • Familiarity with
    CAD software
    (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks) and
    PLM systems
    .
  • Understanding of
    quality standards
    such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English
