Duties and responsibilities

  • Design and develop cable assemblies and wire harnesses based on customer requirements and specifications.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation using CAD software.
  • Select appropriate materials, connectors, and components for cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
  • Perform simulations and analyses to validate designs and ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
  • Lead and manage projects from concept through production, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project goals.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cable assemblies and wire harnesses into products.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against these metrics.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during the production of cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to design, materials, or processes that arise during production.
  • Implement design changes and process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Conduct testing and validation of cable assemblies and wire harnesses to ensure they meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
  • Work with quality assurance teams to address non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source materials and components for cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain and address any issues that arise.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all designs, processes, and testing activities.
  • Ensure products comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cable assembly and wire harness design and development.
  • Able to Speak, Read, and Type in English (can Mandarin is a plus)
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) for creating detailed drawings and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, connectors, and components used in cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
  • Experience with project management, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL, ISO).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with simulation and analysis tools for validating cable and harness designs.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Experience working with global suppliers and managing international supply chains.
