**What you’ll do**
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the head of business development and partnership. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities and partnerships that align with our company vision and mission. You will also manage existing partnerships and collaborations with various stakeholders, such as government agencies, health authorities, academic institutions, NGOs, and other industry players. You will report directly to the Cluster CFO of AstraZeneca Indonesia and work closely with the senior management team and the regional business development team.
The Head of Business Development & Partnership will work closely with business clients to identify and evaluate opportunities. Will have specialist knowledge and strong data rational evaluation skills; able to exercise judgement in making decisions with incomplete information. Will ensure intra-team communications are effective. Will use and adapt AZ standard templates and approaches to ensure transactions are process compliant.
**Accountabilities**:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy and plan that supports the company's growth objectives and maximizes the value of our portfolio.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships that are aligned with our therapeutic areas, market needs, and competitive landscape.
- Lead the negotiation and execution of business deals, contracts, and agreements with potential and existing partners, ensuring compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
- Manage and maintain positive and constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including meeting stakeholders and partners on own or with senior management team.
- Monitor and report on the performance and progress of business development activities, partnerships, and collaborations, using appropriate metrics and tools.
- Provide market intelligence, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision making and portfolio management.
- Manage the business development budget and resources effectively and efficiently.
- Work closely with business clients to understand their collaboration and needs
- Manage the evaluation of potential collaboration opportunities (primarily alliances/ collaborations, and licensing/ acquisition deals)
- Contributing and periodically leading the identification of the best (value) research, collaborations and in-licensed compounds, technologies and companies which are aligned with business strategy
**Key Competencies**
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field; master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, marketing, or partnership management in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing business deals and partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of the Indonesian healthcare system, market dynamics, regulatory environment, and key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
