**Purpose of the position**:
The position is intended to coordinate all group business development activity ensuring alignment with group strategy, undertake and manage specific projects or support as needed business development activity being undertaken by group business units.

**Role Location**
- The role may be either Paris based or in a location of strategic business development importance to the group. Extensive travel may be required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Take charge of the Group's business development activity including supporting and coordinating business unit activity through:
**Organizing the scouting of new business opportunities for the Group through**:

- Building external and internal networks to identify business development opportunities
- Developing the capability of our regional BU and Commercial teams. identify and bring worthwhile business development opportunities to the group.
- Supporting CA&P activity to establish new business relationships in support of our broader CSR strategy and group priorities, particularly within the European domain and associated European subsidies systems.
- Coordinating (including confirming alignment with group strategy and priorities) and bringing business development expertise to support commodity and/or regionally based Commercial function and BU business development efforts.
- Assessing the commercial feasibility of early-stage (undeveloped and not fully explored) opportunities notably third-party resources identified by Exploration and providing the required negotiation planning and support.
- Creating virtual teams drawing on all required functional resources from across the group to pursue, capture and progress business development opportunities (particular emphasis on creating teams drawn from Exploration, M&A, Legal and relevant PMO or BU personnel).
- Providing project management and technical due diligence support to BU business development activities.
- Being responsible for major commercial partnership/joint venture negotiations.
- Preparing, monitoring, and coordinating the actioning of the Eramet undeveloped resource and mine operations acquisition targets list.
- Build for the group a business strategy that is aligned with group priorities and concurrently deliver business development options, including avenues for development through mineral exploration through to acquisition of existing operations.
- Prepare the files presented to the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and the Strategic Committee on business development themes in order to ensure progress and ad hoc decision-making on the Group's development projects.
- Liaise closely and collaborate with peers in Exploration, Strategy, Energy, M&A and other functions to deliver project outcomes.

- Mining background:

- Technical background in a core mining related discipline
- Operational experience in a mining group of international reference

**Required Skills in demand**:

- Ability to be creative, to question, to challenge others positively
- Curiosity / knowledge of markets / related sectors / economic competence
- Strong commercial acumen combined with deep knowledge of resource value chains
- Force of proposal
- Ability to assemble and lead team to deliver outcomes on complex ambiguous issues in a functional matrix.
- Managerial and organisational skills for engaging with stakeholders (internal and external) on complex commercial issues
- Good financial literacy
- Strong project management skills whilst retaining an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities
- Capacity to coach and develop others

**Business development, capital markets or strategy**:

- Experience in strategy consulting or in a corporate strategy business development or financial market function
- Demonstrated capacity to build internal and external networks in mining related sectors
- Demonstrated capacity to deliver resources business development outcomes in commercially complex and/or ambiguous situations
