POSITION SUMMARY:
We are searching for a Senior Sales Engineer, Fluid Power who possesses the experience in growing the distribution network to operate effectively in a matrix environment and have confidence in driving aggressive growth plans. The person should have a consultative and collaborative style, proven track record / achievement. THE ROLE
This role is responsible for executing profitable growth strategies and action plans to recruit new channel distributors and acquire new accounts to address gaps in identified market opportunities together with Local functional leaders (i.e. Innovation, Operations, Finance, HR, IT, and Supply Chain) to achieve overall organization's objectives. In addition, this role would have to liaise with a multi-discipline team including support functions, to delight our Internal and External stakeholders.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.
The responsibilities of the role are to implement the required action plan, manage key customer relationships, key project negotiations, delivery, and distributor engagement activities to support efforts to achieve sales, EBITDA, and market share growth. The role shall carry out tactical activities to increase market coverage and continuously enhance sales efficiency to make a fair profit. In addition, it is to support key tasks, including marketing and strategic planning aligned with global/regional vision and aspirations.
The assigned territories include Fluid Power businesses in Indonesia. This individual is expected to grow the existing business in the next few years.
The Senior Sales Engineer's specific responsibilities will fall into three primary areas:
Accountability #1: Customer (Internal / External Stakeholders)
- Identify and prospect new business opportunities and recommend relevant products for those opportunities, focusing on longer life cycles for customers.
- Evaluate partner distributor sales performance for the assigned segments and recommend improvements.
- Communicate up-to-date information about new products and enhancements, with guidance from the sales manager to channel distributors and/or target end users.
- Search for new customers in a designated region/territory.
- Manage and interpret customer requirements.
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education.
- Resolve sales conflicts, product use, and customer complaints in a timely manner with support from the channel manager and multi-functions.
Accountability #2: Process / Performance
- Provide market intelligence reports for head office.
- Assist in joint execution with marketing on targeted marketing events not limited to industry trade shows, technical days, and roadshows.
- Support marketing by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events offering after-sales support services.
- Compliance with corporate policy like HSE laws & regulations and HR code of conduct etc.
Accountability #3: People
- Work closely with the Application team, marketing team, and sales support team to achieve business objectives.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
This person must have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial sales within the fluid power/hydraulic market at the national level, with good fluid power product knowledge.
- Diploma / Bachelor degree, major in mechanical engineering from a reputable university.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong negotiation skills and time management.
- Good analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, verbal and written in English.
- Strong business acumen and organizational abilities.
- Display proactiveness, reliability, and integrity.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
