About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at The Union Group in Jakarta. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This is a contract position, offering the opportunity to lead a team of skilled chefs and contribute to the overall success of our establishments.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage and lead a team of chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our customers
  • Develop and implement innovative, delicious, and visually appealing menu items that showcase your culinary expertise
  • Oversee the ordering, receiving, and inventory management of all food and kitchen supplies
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events and catering services
  • Monitor and control kitchen expenses to maintain profitability
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve kitchen operations and efficiency

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Proven track record of creating and executing successful menus that cater to diverse customer preferences
  • Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, presentation, and food safety regulations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing kitchen team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative and innovative mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing market trends and customer demands
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the management team and other departments
