Earthworm Foundation is an international non-profit organization (NGO) working to transform the practices of companies and communities around the world for the benefits of people and nature.

Earthworm is seeking a motivated **Community Livelihood Specialist**, based in Semarang, Indonesia with a minimum of 10 years of experience in in agriculture, livelihood, natural resource management and rural development projects at the sub-national and local level, excellent communication and writing skills, preferably with experience in food and cash crops production and regenerative farming systems. The Community Livelihood Specialist will have a proven experience in conducting Business Analysis, Feasibility Studies, and developing and implementing Business Plans related to agriculture and livelihood activities for value generation. She/he should be interested in a career with a dynamic non-profit that builds relationships with companies, governments, local communities/farmers and civil society organizations to bring responsible products to market. She/he should be a self-starter and an innovator who believes that farmers are entrepreneurs with vision and leadership.

The Community Livelihood Specialist will work in a team, in close collaboration with the Earthworm Foundation Landscape Team Leader and Social Thematic Team members and also participate in the implementation of conducting Business Analysis, Feasibility Studies, and developing Business Plans, related to agriculture and livelihood activities for value generation. This information will be analysed and presented as a written report covering local conditions and market access, but also used to develop future capacity building activities and provide individual coaching.

**About Earthworm Foundation Indonesia's Landscape Programme**:
In order to accelerate and scale the impact of Earthworm's work with its members, there is a clear need to work holistically to protect the environment and livelihoods at the wider “landscape” level. This means working across commodities and with a wide range of stakeholders who have different, and often conflicting, resource needs in the landscape. The Earthworm Indonesia Landscape Programme’s aim is to achieve transformation and impact around focused geographical areas at scale.

Protecting forests is essential to combating climate change and ensuring sustainable development. And thus, “Forest” is a key theme in the Earthworm's landscape programme. Many of the remaining forest landscapes in Indonesia, are under increasing threat from human activities, including from agricultural development. The landscape approach involves activities such as restoring degraded forest, provide incentives from conserving forest, agroforestry, improving agricultural productivity, and integrating different farming approaches into one area to diversify livelihoods and improve resiliency.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support Landscape Lead in developing community livelihood program strategies and workplan according to the landscape context
- With each landscape manager, co design and develop business analysis and business plan for various agricultural commodities for e.g. food crops, horticulture and livestock.
- Provide technical supervision and backstopping support for each landscape team to ensure implementation of livelihood activities is delivered according to the workplan and targets.
- Develop approach, methodology and toolkit required to implement and monitor results from livelihood activities based on agribusiness.
- Explore and determine the most efficient, effective and regenerative techniques, equipment and technology to implement livelihood activities based on agribusiness, for example through Agroforestry and or an Intercropping models.
