**Role Purpose**:

- The ASEAN-UK SAGE Women in STEM Scholarships is expected to create pathways for females to allow for wider, attainable preferences for employment. Our portfolio is delivered through a set of globally led programmes that locates our work and impact within our strategic framework. These programmes deliver our key performance indicators and impact ambitions.The British Council has a contextualised programme and project management framework with clear standards and procedures for programme management set out by the CE Centre of Excellence. This framework is in line with Cabinet office functional standard for project delivery, FCDO Operating Framework and the Association for Project Management Body of Knowledge.

**Accountabilities/Responsibilities**:
The postholder will be required to undertake all reasonable duties in accordance with the role’s purpose which are likely to include:

- Support colleagues in British Embassies/High Commissions in the ten ASEAN Member States and Timor-Leste, providing advice and guidance to help alumni engagement in country and provide support for new processes and tools to enable them to deliver against a plan for alumni engagement globally.
- Support British Embassies/High Commissions to deliver meaningful ‘welcome home’ events for newly graduated scholars.
- Support the alumni to participate in relevant ASEAN platforms/events for STEM field to expand network in the region and build capacity.
- Work with UK Mission to ASEAN and ASEAN counterpart to increase the profile of the ASEAN-UK SAGE WiS Scholarships leading to professional development opportunities for the alumni.
- Work with Communications Teams to deliver a robust alumni communications strategy that meets the needs of the global audience.
- Monitor the ASEAN-UK SAGE WiS Scholarships alumni database and online platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn), for the alumni audience, ensuring consistent and regular contact with active alumni and content which may attract alumni who have drafted away. Maintain an alumni section on the ASEAN-UK SAGE Programme website.
- Coordinate events and value-added schemes for alumni, including support for career and skills development, and coordinating alumni transitioning for awardees coming to the end of their ASEAN-UK SAGE WiS Scholarships experience.
- Provide support for the annual procurement of UK University partners for the scheme on behalf of the FCDO’s UK Mission to ASEAN and under direction of the British Council’s global science team. Constantly seek to create improvements in the administration of the procurement and ensure that it meets all FCDO compliance requirements.
- Liaise with all official alumni associations in other countries and maintain records of key contacts. Support existing alumni groups and where feasible, support further alumni groups to self-organise in locations where no official alumni association.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues of main functional areas at ASEAN-UK SAGE Programme and relevant related alumni programmes, such as the FCDO’s Chevening scheme and the British Council’s Alumni UK and Women in STEM Scholarship scheme, to identify opportunities to leverage alumni contacts for the benefit of the programme.

The role holder may be required to take on other reasonable duties in support of the ASEAN UK SAGE Programme.

**Role specific knowledge and experience**:
**Minimum/essential**:

- Degree educated or equivalent experience with an understanding of the experience and needs of international higher education students
- Demonstrable commitment to ensuring the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion are incorporated into work plans and delivery
- Experience in planning and organising small to medium to scale events
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and databases.

**Desirable**:

- Relevant experience of working in a higher education institution or educational office environment with an understanding of the role of alumni relations

**Language Requirement**:The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required (C1 English).
