About the Role

We're looking for a Technical Author to join our Jakarta team as part of Hubexo's global Technical Content Department. This role plays a key part in developing and maintaining technical content for Hubexo's specification products and platforms.

As a Technical Author, you'll research, write, and manage construction specification content to ensure it aligns with best practices, global standards, and UK classification systems such as Uniclass and CAWS. You'll work closely with our UK team to create accurate, structured, and user-friendly technical content that supports professionals in producing high-quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and update existing specification content to reflect the latest building standards, codes, and technologies.
  • Develop new specification content and maintain high accuracy and relevance.
  • Research construction materials, systems, and regulations from verified sources.
  • Consider customer feedback to guide content development and improvements.
  • Collaborate with professional associations, trade organizations, and technical experts.
  • Create tailored guidance that helps designers prepare specifications in line with industry standards, using research and technical writing to deliver clear, reliable information that reduces risk and defines project requirements accurately.
  • Ensure all content aligns with classification systems such as Uniclass, CAWS, USMS, and Archifyspec.
  • Work with the Uniclass team to identify and apply new classification codes.
  • Support research and development of new specification content sets in line with company strategy.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a construction-related discipline (Architecture, M&E, or similar).
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in construction projects or technical documentation.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.

Additional Requirements

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Comfortable working with international colleagues across different time zones.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience working in a global or cross-cultural environment is highly desirable.
  • This is a full-time onsite position based in our Jakarta office.
