About Aquarev:

Aquarev is a venture-backed social enterprise created by The Meloy Fund to renovate, revitalize, and revolve credit for up to 75,000 poorly performing smallholder shrimp farms in Indonesia. Via a proprietary agtech+fintech platform, farmers receive financial support for best-practice renovation and climate-smart intensification of their shrimp ponds, and are provided hands-on support and guidance at the farm level to optimize the day-to-day cultivation process.

Aquarev is now launching its growth phase, bringing in more than US$4 million in investment to scale up its reach to 300 farmers and to implement a series of new sustainability initiatives. Aquarev seeks a dynamic, creative, and high-integrity management team to drive the growth of this innovative new company forward, ultimately to reach thousands of small-scale farmers in Indonesia and beyond.

About the Role:

The Payment Associate is responsible for the timely and accurate execution and record-keeping of all company payments and disbursements, ensuring strict compliance with budget limitations and internal controls. This role serves as a key operational liaison between the Finance department and all internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Payment Processing & Disbursement: Handle all incoming payment requests, verify necessary approvals, and execute timely fund disbursements via banking platforms.
  • Cash & Bank Reconciliation: Download and upload daily or weekly bank statements and transaction logs to the financial system to facilitate accurate cash reconciliation.
  • Financial Reporting & Recap: Prepare accurate and timely payment recaps and reports, detailing all disbursements made during a specified period.
  • Budget Compliance: Compare all outgoing payment amounts against the submitted and approved budget to ensure funds are properly allocated and expenses are justified.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations team and other internal stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure all required payment documentation is accurately and timely provided.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure strict adherence to company payment policies and financial regulations during all disbursement processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in financial administration, accounts payable, cashiering, or a related entry-level transactional role (internships are applicable).
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Xero, SAP) and strong skills in Microsoft Excel for generating recaps and reports. Experience with corporate banking platforms is a plus.
  • Exceptional ability to handle high volumes of financial data accurately, identify potential double payments or discrepancies, and ensure correct payment details.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple payment deadlines efficiently and prioritize urgent disbursement requests.
  • Ability to quickly resolve payment execution errors or issues with banking platforms.
  • Clear and effective communication skills for liaising with Operations and other internal stakeholders regarding payment status and documentation requirements.
