An established mining organisation is seeking a Human Resources Assistant Manager to join their Jakarta head office. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in connecting the central team with site-based employees, ensuring seamless communication and effective HR operations across all locations. You will be at the heart of the company's people strategy, supporting recruitment, payroll, BPJS administration, attendance management, and performance frameworks. The organisation values your commitment to nurturing a positive workplace culture and offers flexible working opportunities, ongoing training, and a supportive environment where your interpersonal skills will truly shine. If you are passionate about fostering collaboration and supporting both office and site teams, this position provides the platform for you to make a meaningful impact.

  • Be the essential link between head office and site teams, ensuring clear communication and consistent HR practices across all locations.
  • Enjoy flexible working opportunities and access to ongoing training designed to support your professional growth within a supportive leadership structure.
  • Contribute directly to key HR functions including recruitment, payroll, BPJS administration, attendance tracking, competency frameworks, balance scorecard implementation, and performance management.

What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Assistant Manager based in Jakarta, you will play an integral role in supporting both the head office team and employees stationed at remote sites. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing critical HR functions such as recruitment coordination, payroll processing, BPJS administration, attendance monitoring, competency framework implementation, balance scorecard reporting, and performance management facilitation. You will act as the primary liaison between central management and site personnel-ensuring that information flows smoothly in both directions while promoting consistency in HR practices. Your ability to nurture relationships across diverse teams will be essential as you help resolve queries, provide policy guidance, organise meetings for knowledge sharing, and maintain compliance with local employment laws. Success in this role means being approachable yet thorough-balancing administrative precision with genuine care for employee wellbeing.

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes by collaborating closely with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure timely onboarding of new employees.
  • Oversee payroll administration with accuracy and confidentiality, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
  • Manage BPJS registration and administration for all employees, acting as the main point of contact for social security matters.
  • Monitor employee attendance records diligently, addressing discrepancies promptly while maintaining transparent communication with both head office and site teams.
  • Support site-based employees by providing guidance on HR policies and procedures, acting as a dependable bridge between remote locations and central management.
  • Implement competency frameworks that align with organisational goals, facilitating employee development through structured assessment and feedback.
  • Drive the balance scorecard process by collecting relevant data from various departments and preparing comprehensive reports for management review.
  • Assist in performance management cycles by coordinating appraisals, gathering feedback from multiple stakeholders, and supporting managers in delivering constructive evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by organising regular meetings between head office staff and site representatives to address concerns and share best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with labour regulations by keeping up-to-date with changes in employment law and advising management on necessary adjustments.

What you bring:

Your background in human resources equips you with the technical expertise needed for this Human Resources Assistant Manager position. You bring hands-on experience managing core HR functions such as recruitment coordination, payroll processing-including BPJS-and attendance tracking within complex organisational structures. Your interpersonal strengths enable you to connect authentically with colleagues at all levels; you are known for your empathy, reliability, and ability to communicate clearly even under pressure. You have supported talent development initiatives like competency frameworks or performance appraisals before-always striving to create fair processes that encourage growth. Your attention to detail ensures accuracy in sensitive tasks such as payroll or regulatory compliance reporting. Above all else, your collaborative spirit helps unite dispersed teams around shared goals while maintaining a positive work environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in human resources roles within large organisations or industrial sectors is highly valued for this position.
  • A strong understanding of Indonesian labour law-including BPJS administration-and practical experience handling payroll processes are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to build trust with both head office colleagues and site-based employees from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to coordinate recruitment activities efficiently while maintaining sensitivity towards candidates' experiences throughout the process.
  • Experience implementing competency frameworks or similar talent development tools will be advantageous for driving organisational growth.
  • Attention to detail is crucial when managing attendance records or preparing reports related to balance scorecards or performance reviews.
  • A collaborative approach is needed to foster open communication channels between different teams within the organisation.
  • Adaptability is important when responding to changing priorities or urgent requests from either central or remote locations.
  • Strong organisational skills are necessary for juggling multiple responsibilities simultaneously without compromising quality or deadlines.
