We're seeking a highly experienced Process Project Manager for the business case preparation for a new surfactant (ester) and Sulphonation plant (Contract Based 1 Years). This role is critical in providing technical and commercial expertise to validate the project's feasibility, ensuring all technical, operational, and financial assumptions are robust.

Duties and Responsibilites:

Business Case Development:

  • Help the Program Manager to develop the comprehensive end-to-end business case preparation. Develop and validate capital expenditure (CapEx) and operational expenditure (OpEx) estimates.
  • Conduct economic and sensitivity analysis to test the project's viability under various scenarios.

Technical & Product Specification:

  • Collaborate closely with the Research & Development (R&D) team to define product specifications, including final product quality, purity, and performance metrics of esters product and sulfonated product.
  • Work with the R&D team to define the raw material specifications, ensuring availability, quality consistency, and cost-effectiveness.

Technology & Vendor Management:

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with technology vendors and licensors.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate reactor technologies, catalysts, and process configurations suitable for ester production and sulfonation production.
  • Analyze vendor proposals, conduct technical due diligence, and assist in negotiating technical scope and guarantees.

Trial and Commercialization:

  • Advice the planning and execution of trials for new ester products and sulfonation products.
  • Work with the operations team to optimize process parameters during trials to ensure product quality and yield.
  • Analyze trial data, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide recommendations for full-scale production.

Requirement & Qualification:

  1. A minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience in the chemical industry related with Esters Plant and Sulfonation Plant.
  2. Extensive experience with the design, commissioning, or operation of chemical plants, particularly those producing surfactants, esters, sulfonation, or fatty acid derivatives.
  3. Proven track record in developing and presenting comprehensive business cases for large-scale capital projects.
  4. Deep technical knowledge of chemical reactor technology, catalysis, and separation processes relevant to ester synthesis and sulfonation.
  5. Hands-on experience in dealing with technology vendors and licensors for process plant projects.
  6. Experience in scaling up chemical processes from lab/pilot to commercial scale, including managing product trials and troubleshooting.
