Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the coffee bar, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of quality.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate baristas to enhance their skills and promote a positive work environment.
  • Maintain and develop where necessary beverage recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in all drinks.
  • Monitor inventory and manage ordering of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and equipment.
  • Engage with customers to provide recommendations and ensure a memorable experience.
  • Stay informed about coffee trends, techniques, and innovations in barista skills.
  • Assist in marketing efforts, including social media promotions and community events.

Skills and qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); Barista certification or relevant coursework (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a barista, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso machines, and brewing methods.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Specialty coffee certifications (e.g., SCA, Barista Guild) are a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in latte art and beverage presentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Knowledge of coffee sourcing and flavor profiles is a must.
