We are currently looking to expand our engineering team with a talented Design Product Engineering to support our product development process. As a member of our engineering team, you will be involved in the entire product development process starting from design, initial product drawings and prototyping until preparing all product data for the production process. Good communication skills are required as you will be in daily contact with the product development manager, the sample makers team, the production team and the sales team.

As part of a global organization, you will also interact with our colleagues overseas and work together on projects at a group level.

Key responsibilities

  1. Detailed 2D & 3D technical CAD drawings (SolidWorks)
  2. Product rendering for non-marketing applications
  3. Assembly instructions, box lay-out, manufacturing instructions
  4. Compile and maintain the bills of materials
  5. Collaborate with the design team to conceptualise and develop new furniture product designs
  6. Utilise your technical skills to engineer and refine product designs, ensuring they are feasible and aligned with production capabilities
  7. Test and validate product designs to ensure they meet quality, safety and performance standards
  8. Work closely with the production team to oversee the manufacturing process and address any design-related issues
  9. Photograph samples and edit

Qualifications

  1. Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar product design or engineering role, preferably in the furniture industry
  3. Technical knowledge of (aluminum) furniture manufacturing: construction, ergonomics, standards
  4. Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design principles
  5. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, CAM software, Solidworks
  6. Experience with CNC programming
  7. Ability in Process flow chart, FMEA, QCPC
  8. Fluent in English both oral and written
  9. Basic photo editing skills and MS Office
  10. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information effectively
