**About the Role**

The **Head of Operations** will lead the strategic execution and operational optimization of Pangea’s global activities, ensuring financial sustainability and alignment with Pangea’s mission. This role encompasses managing the full breadth of operational functions, including supply chain, R&D, production, fundraising, **admin, human resources, finance, and legal oversight.** You will drive operational excellence, scalability, and compliance while ensuring impactful and profitable growth.

**Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Execution and Leadership**
- Translate Pangea’s mission and goals into operational strategies, aligning production, logistics, and sustainability objectives.
- Develop and execute multi-year operational roadmaps, ensuring alignment across admin, HR, finance, and legal priorities alongside core operational functions.
- Identify and mitigate risks across operations, maintaining resilience and adaptability in dynamic market conditions.

**Operational Excellence**
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of materials, from plastic waste collection to production, ensuring efficiency and sustainability at every stage.
- Implement innovative production techniques, including zero-waste, closed-loop, and carbon-negative processes, to meet Pangea’s environmental and quality standards.
- Introduce advanced tools and systems like ERP software to improve workflows and enhance decision-making across all operational areas.

**Financial Oversight and Legal Compliance**
- Create and manage operational budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives and sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with the finance team on cost-control measures, reporting, and transparent resource allocation.
- Oversee compliance with international trade laws, contracts, and intellectual property protections, coordinating with legal advisors as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to local and international legal and regulatory standards, fostering risk management and due diligence.

**Human Resources and Talent Management**
- Design and implement HR policies aligned with Pangea’s mission and values, fostering an inclusive and sustainable workplace.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to build a high-performing, purpose-driven team.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and practices while nurturing employee development and engagement programs.

**Administrative Oversight**
- Establish and maintain efficient administrative processes to support operational needs across the organization.
- Ensure effective records management and documentation for operations, finance, HR, and legal functions.
- Coordinate with external service providers and stakeholders to streamline administrative operations.

**Research and Development (R&D) Integration**
- Partner with R&D teams to scale production of advanced recycled materials, fostering innovation in polymer technology and sustainable engineering.
- Facilitate the integration of R&D breakthroughs into scalable operational practices.

**Fundraising and Partnerships**
- Support fundraising initiatives by providing operational insights and scalable proposals that demonstrate ROI.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with NGOs, governments, and private sector entities to enhance Pangea’s supply chain and mission impact.

**Outcomes**
- Achieve operational scalability while adhering to sustainability commitments.
- Establish robust systems for HR, finance, legal, and admin that align with organizational growth goals.
- Achieve cost efficiencies, gross margin improvements, and enhanced operational compliance.
- Seamlessly integrate R&D innovations into commercial production.
- Develop partnerships that support both operational and environmental objectives.
