**Duties**:
Supports Embassy Economic and Environment, Science, Technology, and Health (ESTH) Section by developing and providing analytical information and counsel on significant matters relating to host government policies and public views on ESTH and health security issues. In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible for supporting USG-supported ESTH programs and activities in Indonesia. Job holder provides substantive and policy-relevant advice to strengthen ESTH cooperation and enhance the effectiveness of collaborative programs. Finished products will normally be English language reports. The incumbent also assists in developing and maintaining contacts - both official and within the local and foreign NGOs and business communities - related to ESTH and energy issues. The incumbent works closely with the Economic Officer (ESTH/Health), as appropriate, supports other U.S. direct hires in the Economic/ESTH section in performing these duties, but also be expected to exercise considerable initiative and be able to work without significant direction and supervision.

EXPERIENCE: Must have at least five years experience in policy, advocacy, research, analytic, or project/program management experience related to development, environment, science, technology, health, or energy is required, as is close familiarity with sources and availability of data and other informational materials.

- Education Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a natural science, economics, development, public policy, environmental policy, environmental studies, or environmental science is required.
- Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Fluent speaking/reading/writing in English and Indonesian are required. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Demonstrated ability and initiative to conduct independent research and analysis. The incumbent must have the presence, disposition, and ability to meet, work with, and gain the confidence of a wide range of contacts, including senior government officials and dignitaries.
