The Government of North Macedonia is planning to award Bechtel, along with our joint venture partner, the construction of approximately 110km of dual carriageway motorway.
The project is of significant national importance and the Government of North Macedonia is entrusting the joint venture to fast track the development and construction of these strategic motorways which will form part of the Pan-European Corridors IIIV and Xd, which will enhance North Macedonia’s transport connections with neighbouring countries and support economic and social development.
These four new sections of motorway will continue Bechtel’s legacy in delivering successful motorways in the Balkan region. The North Macedonia motorway consists of two sections in the east heading south from the capital Skopje and running parallel to the Sharr mountains, one section passing through the UNESCO natural world heritage site around Lake Ohrid (one of Europe’s deepest and oldest lakes), with the fourth section in the South of the country close to the border with Greece which will enhance connectivity between the cities of Bitola and Prilep.

**Position Summary**
The Human Resources/Labour Relations Manager is responsible for providing leadership to the Human Resources/Labour Relations team in the establishment, implementation and administration of personnel plans/programs and project systems & procedures, in accordance with the Project’s Human Resources/Labour Relations Strategy and local Serbian employment legislation. This role interfaces with the JV Partner as well as Bechtel Infrastructure organisation.

- Reports to and receives operational instruction and guidance from the Serbian Project Business Manager
- Receives functional guidance from either the Infrastructure HR Services Manager or the Workforce Services Manager
**Supervision Exercised**
- Provides direct supervision and operational guidance to the Project Human Resources / Labour Relations team.
**Contacts**
- Contact with the Project Manager as required for strategic direction.
- Day to day operational / functional contact with Human Resources / Labour Relations team.
- Day to day contact with Infra HR Services Manager to provide information or to request information on international personnel policies and/or practices.
- Day to day contact with the HR People Operations team.
- Contacts JV partners/client’s representatives and provides information on matters involving personnel administration and employment activity.
- Contacts various government agencies to obtain current information on applicable laws and practices.
- Contacts local community organizations for information or assistance to employees and/or dependants
