**About the Department of Home Affairs**

The Department of Home Affairs is a central policy agency, providing coordinated strategy and policy leadership for Australia's national and transport security, federal law enforcement, criminal justice, cyber security, border, immigration, multicultural affairs, emergency management and trade related functions.

Immigration Programs Division delivers the permanent migration and temporary visa programs to maximise the long-term economic and social benefits to Australia across the Skilled, Family and Resident Return visa programs, and through Temporary entry to support tourism, education and international relations.

**About the position**

This position will be required to work across a number of Immigration Program Teams within the Australian Embassy Jakarta. A Program Officer within both the Refugee & Humanitarian Program and Partner Program works under limited direction to assist the Principal Migration Officer (PMO) and Senior Migration Officer (SMO) in delivering the permanent visa program in Jakarta. The position is responsible for progressing a range of activities within recognised guidelines, including determining day-to-day priorities of an operational team, managing workflow resource allocations and individual and team output to ensure programs are delivered and performance standards and targets are met. A Program Officer in the Integrity Team works under limited direction to assist the Chief Migration Officer Integrity (CMOI) in managing the identification and reporting of risk and integrity issues within a broad range of visa caseloads and works to established policies and procedures to analyse visa and citizenship caseloads in line with integrity unit responsibilities.
