**About the Department of Home Affairs**

The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for the coordination and leadership of strategy and policy in relation to cyber and critical infrastructure resilience and security, immigration, border security and management, law enforcement and counterterrorism, emergency management, citizenship, and the protection of Australia’s sovereignty and social cohesion.

The Home Affairs section in the Australian Embassy Jakarta is responsible for supporting the delivery of Department of Home Affairs functions offshore through maintaining an immigration operations capability and engaging the Indonesian government on issues relating to border security, customs, and immigration control.

**About the position**

With limited direction, the Program Manager will manage complex relationships with stakeholders, represent the department by promoting its interests at community and cross-department levels and manages the Home Affairs engagement program priorities.

As part of the management team, the position contributes to the setting of priorities and monitors program implementation in line with program manager responsibilities, as well as overseeing the day-to-day activities of the office and staff.

The position will also have a considerable engagement and liaison role with internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive client experiences and will manage complex client relationships and escalated enquiries and issues.
