Key responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

  • Set high standards for code quality, system design, and documentation
  • Review TSDs and PRs; drive architecture and design discussions
  • Uphold best practices across CI/CD, observability, and incident response

Process Improvement

  • Improve team workflows for estimation, reviews, and planning
  • Drive consistency across squads; champion tooling that boosts efficiency

Project Management

  • Define quarterly engineering plans aligned with business goals
  • Break down OKRs into actionable roadmaps; track progress and unblock teams
  • Use tools like Jira, Linear, GitHub, and internal dashboards for visibility

People Management

  • Mentor engineers through 1:1s, feedback, and career development
  • Build a strong, inclusive team culture; lead hiring and onboarding

Product Collaboration

  • Partner with PMs to align product goals with tech feasibility
  • Understand payment flows (payment-in/out, settlement, reconciliation)
  • Connect engineering work to business outcomes; push for long-term scalability

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Strong backend or full-stack background (e.g., Go, Java, ) with solid understanding of architecture, algorithms, and performance
  • Experience writing and reviewing high-quality TSDs, conducting design reviews, and owning CI/CD, observability, and incident response workflows
  • Proven track record in shipping projects, improving systems, and scaling teams in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communicator with strong problem-solving skills and ability to align engineering with business and product goals
