What will you be doing?

As an Engineering Manager, you will be providing leadership to various offshore and marine project teams, ensuring that technical excellence, cost, schedule and contractual requirements are achieved. In addition, you will also:

• Overall responsibility for the business engineering scopes.
• Manage engineering technical staff and participate in project management, design, approval and validation of project activities across disciplines.
• Manage own Marine Warranty Projects as required
• Coordinate Engineer Staff and Freelances resources to cover committed work scopes including site attendances
• Provide direction and guidance to engineers and designers to complete projects assigned.
• Tendering process management, Contractors management and supervision, Project Management of OE projects, QA/QC process supervision and management.
• Management and Oversight of engineering projects to ensure the highest quality delivery
• Maintain and develop new business lines
• Supervision and delivery of technical reports and studies
• Assist with the preparation of proposals for bids and tender input.
• Supporting, developing and maintaining specific deliverables such as work scopes, project design criteria, design basis documents, technical documents, cost estimates, schedules, project profitability and other project related documents.
• Interface with Client Project Managers, other contractors and representatives to ensure project completion and customer satisfaction.
• Support the Country Manager in developing and delivering the strategy to penetrate the Market through the different business service lines
• Attend regular internal meetings and external / third party meetings as required
• Maintain responsibility for engineering integrity, prepare working forecasts, identifying change management plans, and corrective action as well as real time schedules
• Review vendor drawings and documents for requirement compliance
• Provide continuous review of the quality of project work, ensuring all deliverables are carried out in accordance with ABL Group policies and procedures
• Coordination with administration and account teams to ensure smooth running of engineering projects
• Coordination and management of subcontractor works
• Liaising with intercompany offices for work and resource sharing
• Management of external engineering resources for project completion. Provide dedicated, visible leadership and demonstrate your commitment to QHSE through active consultation and involvement; Accountable for all the Quality & HSE aspects within the company / business segment and shall promote QHSE related activities within all operations.

The position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia and you must have the right to live and work Indonesia. Willing to travel (including offshore) and work within a variety of time zones.

What are we looking for?

To excel in this position, you will be possessing a strong project engineering/project management. Additionally, you will bring:

• Degree qualification in Engineering or comparable
• At least 10 years relevant experience within the industry
• Strong Project Engineering / Project Management
• Full technical understanding of the marine and engineering consultancy business
• Experience with hands-on engineering background.
• In depth knowledge of industry standards and codes
• and the ability to apply standards to structural analysis, designs, review and independent verification.
• Experience of working with engineering and admin team.
• Exposure and understanding of Marine Warranty
• Capable of Senior Management responsibilities with limited direction or Line Director supervision.
• Accustomed to leading a team in the execution of projects to a high standard on time and on budget.
• Strong people and project management skills
• Able to and maintain build strong commercial relationships with clients.
• Knowledge of engineering analysis and design computer programs.
• Will have relevant offshore industry experience
• Attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
• Results orientated and client focused.
• Proactive and ability to show initiative in problem solving.
• Ability to manage technical staff
• Influential with business and people acumen.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to hire right engineering personnel for future business growth.
• Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and appropriate professional image

Desirable:

• Master's degree or equivalent
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent
• Previous management experience from similar role
• Established network within the region
