Quality Assurance Engineer - Automation Specialist

Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced QA Engineer who can hit the ground running with test automation for both web and Android platforms. While automation will be your primary focus, you'll also perform strategic manual testing where it adds the most value. You'll be used as a guide in making technology choices and establishing best practices for the team.

Skills Required

  • Proven expertise in web automation using industry-standard frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar) with the ability to architect maintainable test suites
  • Android automation experience with tools like Espresso, UI Automator, or Appium, including handling testing scenarios that combine mobile and web.
  • Competency in at least one programming language commonly used for test automation (JavaScript/TypeScrip, Python, Kotlin)
  • Understanding of version control (Git)
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend testing tools and frameworks based on project requirements, team capabilities, and long-term maintainability

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with CI/CD integration and running automated tests in continuous deployment pipelines
  • Experience testing GraphQL APIs and backend services
  • Knowledge of performance testing and load testing tools
  • Experience with test reporting and metrics dashboards
  • Familiarity with GCP or other cloud platforms
  • Experience mentoring other QA team members in automation

Personality and other characteristics:

  • A Strong Communicator in English: You can explain your work perfectly to English speaking teammates; you can discuss complicated technical issues in such a way that language is never an issue; you can receive complicated detailed technical guidance in English.
  • Adaptable, practical and humble: You're comfortable switching between automation work and hands-on manual testing when that's what the situation requires, without losing sight of the automation goals and without feeling frustrated.
  • Ready to work a 2-shift system that includes everyday:
  • 5 hours in the office in Jakarta (10:00 to 15:00)
  • 3 hours from home (20:00 to 23:00) which ends in a daily standup in the morning in North-America time.
