Responsibilities:

Key duties and requirements

  • Drive sustainable improvements in operational standard: to match IATA standard & highest standard in Asia & CAAC standard by consistently achieving operational targets within agreed budgets and timelines;
  • Ensure airline operations fully & enhance OTP, and support the company's business model, commercial objectives, and long-term strategy;
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Flight Operations department, OCC department and SSQ department to ensure safe, effective, and economical daily, tactical, and strategic operations; and
  • Oversee & coordinate all operational related planning, utilization, and projection of training of C909 pilots & flight operations resources to facilitate fast growing business.

Safety & Compliance

  • Actively promote and support the airline's Safety Management System (SMS) and ensure its effective implementation across all operational units;
  • Guarantee that Operations Control Center (OCC) activities comply with DGCA, ICAO, and IATA standards;
  • Ensure all flight operations are conducted in compliance with the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) conditions, state regulations, DGCA requirements, and internal operating standards; and
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant aviation rules, regulations, and procedures, ensuring the airline remains audit-ready at all times.

Operations Control & Decision-Making

  • Provide executive oversight for OCC operations, including crew management, dispatch, and real-time operational decision-making;
  • Establish and maintain standards for line operations in accordance with DGCA licensing requirements and, where necessary, beyond regulatory minimums; and
  • Execute overall responsibility for the Operations Manual and ensure adherence across the organization.

Cost Management & Efficiency

  • Review and evaluate operating costs within the Flight Operations Division to ensure optimal cost-effectiveness;
  • Implement corrective actions as needed to meet budgetary requirements without compromising safety or regulatory compliance; and
  • Ensure overall operational efficiency to meet commercial plans and performance objectives.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Liaise effectively with other divisions to ensure alignment on operational matters, especially those related to safety and regulatory compliance; and
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Ground Operations, Safety, Commercial, and other departments to support seamless airline operations.

People Leadership & Development

  • Lead the development, training, and performance of personnel within the Flight Operations Division to ensure professional, qualified, and continuously improving teams
  • Select, develop, motivate, and appraise management personnel to achieve divisional goals and maintain high operational standards; and
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • It's a senior management role which requires passion & professionalism & well- organized character, with strategic thinking & creative solutions to make things happen.
  • Minimum 10 years of middle level to senior level airline operations experience (ie: Flight Ops, OCC, Crew, Dispatch, Ground Ops). Has work experience in both Chinese airlines and global airlines is a plus.
  • Must hold or have held an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) Airbus A320/A321 with a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or managerial experience (at least as Chief Pilot) in a role that exercises operational control over large aircraft operations. Licensed in C909 is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of DGCA/CASR regulations, CAAC regulations, ICAO standards, and airline operational compliance.
  • Proven leadership in managing large operational teams and handling irregular operations (IROPS).
  • Experience in implementing and overseeing Safety Management System (SMS) and operational audits.
  • Ability to make strategic and real-time operational decisions to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective airline operations.
  • Fluent in both Chinese and English as a must, Bahasa is a plus.
  • Based in JKT, travel to China on regular basis.
