To accelerate this momentum, we are looking for a highly capable Senior Operations & Collection Manager to strengthen our operational foundation and drive scalable success.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Operations & Collection Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping wagely's operational excellence and collection effectiveness. You will be responsible for developing SOPs, building strategies, improving processes, and supervising high-performing teams to ensure strong portfolio health and operational efficiency.

Operations Strategy, SOP & Policy Building

  • Develop, refine, and implement end-to-end SOPs for collections, operations, and risk-related workflows.
  • Create multi-level collection strategies for B2B and B2C products, including Salary Loans.
  • Establish policies for terminated employees, non-willing payers, and high-risk users.
  • Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, legal standards, and data privacy regulations.

Recovery, Negotiation & Cash Flow Management

  • Oversee all collection and recovery efforts for delinquent users.
  • Develop structured repayment strategies—restructure, refinance, or renegotiate where needed.
  • Support cash flow projections through accurate collection forecasting.
  • Coordinate with legal teams to align recovery plans with legal proceedings.

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Optimize workflows, escalation pathways, and operational frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Product, Risk, and Operations teams to enhance recovery efficiency.
  • Recommend and drive automation/system improvements to scale collection success.

Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor DPD movement, NPL ownership, and overall portfolio health.
  • Analyze data to detect risk patterns and propose actionable insights.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards for senior leadership.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work with employer partners, banks, and third-party agencies to support smooth recovery.
  • Align with credit risk, customer support, and portfolio managers for dispute and case resolution.

What makes you a great fit?

  • 7-10+ years of experience in credit collection, loan recovery, risk management, or operations — preferably in FinTech, BNPL, or microfinance.
  • Strong background in both B2B and B2C collections.
  • Proven experience handling DPD 30+ portfolios and improving NPL.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating SOPs, strategies, and operational policies.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Data-driven mindset and proficiency with Excel.
