IT & Technology Director – Travel & Experience Company (Denpasar)

One of our clients, a Bali-based travel company, dedicated to inspiring people through memorable moments across Indonesia, is looking for an IT & Technology Director to join their team.

The IT & Technology Director will be responsible for building and leading the company technology strategy and infrastructure. This role will transition the company from manual, fragmented tools (Excel, Gmail, WhatsApp) to an integrated, automated ecosystem that supports seamless operations, enhances guest experience, and strengthens collaboration with international partners.This position requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution: from selecting and implementing enterprise-level booking systems, to ensuring data accuracy, to integrating automation across platforms. The Director will act as the bridge between management, operations, reservations, finance, and sales to make technology a driver of growth, efficiency, and service excellence.

Requirements :

• Open for local and expat candidates.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the travel industry, particularly within a Destination Management Company (DMC).
• Proven experience as IT Director, Technology Director, or similar senior role.
• Hands-on expertise with TourPlan (or equivalent booking software).
• Experience implementing CRM systems (Salesforce) with automated marketing and customer workflows.
• Knowledge of automation platforms (Zapier, Integromat, APIs).
• Solid understanding of cloud tools (Google Workspace, data management, SaaS integrations).
• Strong project management skills with ability to lead cross-department adoption.
• Ability to build dashboards for finance, operations, and sales performance monitoring.
• Familiarity with geolocation/GPS tracking systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to train non-technical staff.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Strategic mindset with ability to translate business needs into tech solutions.

Responsibilities :

• Technology Strategy & Infrastructure: Develop and implement the digital transformation roadmap for the company. Transition manual processes (Excel files, email chains) into scalable platforms. Ensure data security, backups, and compliance with international standards.
• Booking Software Implementation & Optimisation: Lead the adoption of a booking platform (TourPlan or equivalent) across Reservations, Operations, and Accounting teams. Ensure full integration for external partners (tour operators, agents). Develop and customise software features. Guarantee data entry accuracy and set up automation for repetitive tasks.
• CRM & Customer Engagement Automation: Implement and integrate a CRM system (Salesforce). Automate workflows such as personalised newsletters, client updates & follow ups, and tailored communications. Develop segmentation strategies. Build CRM–booking software connections.
• Automation & Integration: Connect internal tools (Gmail, Google Drive, WhatsApp, etc.) using Zapier or similar platforms. Streamline workflows to reduce manual work and human error. Develop automation that improves productivity across departments.
• Dashboards & Reporting: Build real-time dashboards and reporting tools for Operations, Finance, and Sales teams. Provide actionable insights to management. Ensure dashboards are user-friendly and accessible.
• Leadership & Team Collaboration: Train, guide, and support staff in adopting new technologies. Work closely with the General Manager and department heads. Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants.
