Sales Manager – Heavy Equipment (Mining Services)Position Overview

The Sales Manager – Heavy Equipment is responsible for driving sales growth, managing key accounts, and expanding market penetration for heavy equipment products and mining service solutions. This role oversees end-to-end sales activities, builds strong customer relationships, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery to mining clients.

Key Responsibilities1. Sales Strategy & Revenue Achievement

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities within mining companies, contractors, and related industry segments.
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts, business plans, and performance reports to management.

2. Customer & Key Account Management

  • Manage and grow strategic accounts in the mining sector.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with procurement, operational, and project teams of mining clients.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, site inspections, and technical discussions to understand customer needs.

3. Technical & Product Understanding

  • Provide product knowledge and technical guidance on heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dump trucks, attachments, etc.) and service solutions.
  • Coordinate with engineering/service teams to propose suitable equipment, maintenance packages, and service contracts.
  • Ensure the correct specification, configuration, and application of machinery for customer operations.

4. Sales Operations & Negotiation

  • Lead end-to-end sales processing including inquiry handling, quotation, bidding, tender submission, and price negotiation.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (finance, operation, logistics, service) to ensure smooth order fulfillment and after-sales support.
  • Monitor project pipelines, delivery schedules, and equipment commissioning.

5. Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis

  • Conduct market mapping, competitor benchmarking, and pricing analysis to stay updated on industry trends.
  • Provide insights to management regarding market opportunities, customer behavior, and competitive threats.

6. Team Leadership (If applicable)

  • Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Conduct coaching, skill development, and performance evaluation.
  • Build a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability and customer satisfaction.

7. After-Sales Coordination

  • Work closely with service team to ensure SLA, maintenance contract performance, and parts availability.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve service or operational issues promptly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5–7 years experience in heavy equipment, mining services, or industrial machinery sales.
  • Strong understanding of mining operations, equipment applications, and industry practices.
  • Proven experience in key account management, tender processes, and negotiation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel to remote mining sites.
