Position Summary

The Sous Chef is a key leader in the galley, responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in the overall culinary operation, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to manage an international team in a luxury environment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Advanced culinary skills, leadership, and professional experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in high-end hotels or fine-dining restaurants.
  • At least 2 years of management experience in a recognized luxury hospitality establishment or upscale cruise line.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with senior management.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Sound administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to coach, train, and develop subordinates.
  • Highly cost-conscious and quality-driven.
  • Flexible with working hours and adaptable to operational demands.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and within strict time constraints.
  • Comfortable working in a diverse, multicultural environment.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

  • High school diploma or international equivalent.
  • Completion of a 3-year apprenticeship for professional chefs or a Degree in Culinary Arts.
  • Valid USPH or HACCP certification.
  • STCW certification preferred.

Contract Length : 5 months on / 2 months off
