Engineer – Operations

Job Description

Reporting to the Regional Manager – Operations & Maintenance, the O&M Engineer, is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance and performance optimisation of Cleantech Solar's commercial and industrial (C&I) solar power plants across Indonesia. The role involves monitoring system performance, coordinating with O&M contractors, supporting troubleshooting activities and ensuring compliance with Cleantech's safety, quality and operational standards. The O&M Engineer will also assist in the setting up of monitoring configurations and the handover of new systems from the Project team to the O&M team.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

• System Monitoring & Performance Analysis
• Carrying out fieldwork at solar project sites and coordinating with contractors across multiple provinces in Indonesia
• Monitoring daily system performance through monitoring platforms
• Analysing system data, identify performance deviations and recommending corrective actions to maintain optimal energy yield
• Preparing regular performance and maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting data validation and performance benchmarking to ensure system accuracy and reliability
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Engineering and Asset Management
• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
• Coordinating and managing preventive maintenance schedules to minimise system downtime
• Supervising and verifying the quality of work performed by third-party contractors to ensure compliance with Cleantech's operational and safety standards
• Performing initial troubleshooting and escalating complex issues to Senior Engineers or vendors where necessary
• Maintaining proper documentation of maintenance activities, service reports and spare parts usage
• Contractor Supervision & Coordination
• Serving as the main technical point of contact for contractors performing site maintenances, inspections or repair works
• Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Cleantech's work permit and safety approval processes
• Reviewing and validating contractor invoices, reports and documentations
• Overseeing contractors to ensure timely response to faults and maintenance requests
• Support During Project Handover & Monitoring Setup
• Supporting the Project team during site commissioning and handover to the O&M team
• Assisting in setting up and verifying monitoring systems to ensure accurate and complete data collection
• Participating in site acceptance testing (SAT) and verifying compliance with design and operational parameters
• Compliance, Safety & Reporting
• Ensuring all site activities comply with local regulations, Cleantech's EHS policies and relevant standards
• Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring contractors follow site safety requirements
• Preparing and submitting daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by the Management

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; other Engineering disciplines may be considered (training provided)
• Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 3 years of experience in solar power or electrical systems are welcome to apply
• Good understanding or willingness to learn about solar PV system components, inverters, transformers and monitoring systems
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and coordination skills
• Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Willing to travel to project sites, including occasional assignments in Indonesia.

Location

• Job location for the above position is in Indonesia, with requirements for travel to various Cleantech Solar sites and locations across different sites in the country.
