The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Logistic Sales & Export Import Manager to join our team to act as the strategic bridge between business growth and operational execution. The role holder is required to drive revenue through the acquisition and retention of logistics clients while simultaneously ensuring the seamless, compliant, and cost-effective movement of cross-border cargo.

The manager must serve as a dual-threat leader who can conduct consultative selling to secure new freight forwarding and logistics contracts and subsequently oversee the complex regulatory landscape of Indonesian Customs (Bea Cukai) and international trade compliance. They are ultimately accountable for meeting sales targets and ensuring zero-error compliance in export-import documentation and processes.

Key Responsibilities

This role combines commercial aggression with operational precision. The responsibilities are divided into Business Development and Export-Import Operations.

A. Business Development & Sales (Commercial)

Market Expansion: Identify and capture new business opportunities within Indonesia, focusing on manufacturers, trading companies, and distributors requiring Air, Sea, and Land logistics.

Consultative Selling: Analyze client supply chains to propose tailored logistics solutions (e.g., consolidation, multi-modal transport, bonded warehouse utilization) rather than just selling freight, transportation or services rates.

Key Account Management: Build long-term relationships with existing clients to up-sell services (e.g., adding customs brokerage or trucking to ocean freight contracts).

Pricing & Quotations: Formulate competitive commercial proposals and RFQs (Request for Quotations) by negotiating rates with shipping lines, airlines, and overseas agents to maximize profit margins.

New Business Process and Operation Initiatives: Able to develop the sales-operation processes, acquire new vendors to support new projects if the company lacks resources at the initial stage, then transfer these standard procedures to the operation team, while this position should be able to supervise the operation team, encouraging the company to meet new customers' expectations.

B. Export-Import Operations & Compliance

Customs Compliance: Oversee the preparation and submission of crucial Indonesian trade documents, specifically PEB (Pemberitahuan Ekspor Barang) and PIB (Pemberitahuan Impor Barang). ensure accurate classification of HS Codes to avoid penalties.

Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for Indonesian Customs (Bea Cukai), Quarantine, and other relevant government bodies (Ministries of Trade/Industry) regarding Lartas (Prohibitions and Restrictions) and permit requirements.

Shipment Management: Monitor end-to-end shipment flows (Door-to-Door, Port-to-Port) and resolve issues related to demurrage, detention, or inspections (Red Line/Jalur Merah handling).

Agent Coordination: Manage relationships with the global agency network to ensure smooth cargo handling at origin and destination countries.

C. Process Optimization & Project Implementation

Workflow Development: Design and implement end-to-end Sales-to-Operations workflows to ensure a smooth transition from contract signing to project execution.

Strategic Vendor Sourcing: Identify and onboard external vendors (transporters, warehouse providers, or agents) to bridge resource gaps during the initial setup of new projects, ensuring scalability without immediate capital investment.

SOP Standardization & Transfer: Document successful operational workflows into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and facilitate the formal handover of these processes to the daily operations team.

Operational Oversight: Maintain supervisory oversight during the project stabilization phase, guiding the operations team to ensure strict adherence to the new customer's service level agreements (SLAs) and expectations.

C. Leadership & Reporting

Team Management: Lead and mentor the sales and operational teams, setting KPIs regarding sales volume, file count, and customs clearance lead times.

Reporting: Submit monthly reports on sales pipeline, profit/loss per shipment, and operational performance to the management.

What We're Looking For

  1. Bachelor Degree in Management, Logistics/Supply Chain, International Business, or related field with minimum GPA 3.00.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in the Freight Forwarding or 3PL industry in Indonesia, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  3. Technical Knowledge:

Deep understanding of INSW and CEISA systems.

Mastery of Incoterms 2020 and their application in Sales contracts.

Strong knowledge of Indonesian Import/Export taxes (BM, PPN, PPh 22) and Free Trade Agreements (COO/Form D, Form E, etc.).

Commercial Acumen: Proven track record of meeting sales targets and an existing network of potential clients in key Indonesian industries (e.g., Textile, Automotive, FMCG, Electronics).

Language: Professional proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English (both written and verbal) is mandatory for dealing with overseas agents and local authorities.
4. Desirable (Preferred) Qualifications

Certifications: Possession of a PPJK (Ahli Kepabeanan) certification is highly desirable.

Niche Experience: Experience in handling specific logistics verticals such as Project Cargo (Breakbulk), Cold Chain, or Dangerous Goods (DG).
5. Extensive knowledge of import and export regulations, customs procedures, and logistics best practices.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
7. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales and marketing strategies.
8. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of professionals.
