We are seeking a detail-oriented IT Governance Officer to join our IT team. This hands-on role will be responsible for implementing IT governance processes, maintaining documentation, and supporting day-to-day compliance activities across our technology environment. The successful candidate will help execute governance procedures, monitor adherence to IT policies, and conduct regular assessments to ensure operational compliance and support of business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute IT governance processes by implementing established procedures, applying governance frameworks (TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, PCI-DSS, etc), and maintaining control documentation to support consistent IT operations and alignment with company standards.
  • Conduct policy compliance reviews by performing regular assessments, checking operational adherence to IT policies, recording findings, and coordinating with IT teams to address gaps and ensure policies are properly implemented.
  • Ensure alignment between IT activities and policies by reviewing operational practices against documented procedures, identifying misalignments, and working with IT teams to correct discrepancies to maintain consistency between policy and practice.
  • Support IT audit activities by collecting required evidence, organizing documentation, facilitating meetings with auditors, tracking audit findings, and coordinating remediation efforts to address identified issues.
  • Maintain governance documentation by updating policies, procedures, and standards, managing document versioning, ensuring appropriate approvals, and publishing updated materials to keep governance documentation current and accessible.
  • Generate compliance reports by gathering operational data, documenting control effectiveness, tracking remediation progress, and preparing regular status updates to provide management with visibility into governance activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in IT operations, compliance, or governance roles
  • Practical knowledge of IT governance frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Experience with documentation management and policy implementation
  • Strong attention to detail and process-oriented approach to work
  • Good communication skills with ability to effectively interact with IT staff and stakeholders
