Job Description:

  • Create, maintain, and communicate policies, procedures, and standards for data governance to ensure effective and efficient data use across the organization.
  • (e.g., data classification, user access controls, metadata management)
  • Propose and enforce data quality standards, monitor data quality metrics, identify inconsistencies or anomalies, and implement measures to improve data accuracy and reliability.
  • Work closely with business units, engineering, cybersecurity, legal, and compliance teams to align data governance practices with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and update metadata repositories, master data documentation, and data catalogs to enable unified understanding and accessibility of data assets.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, UU PDP) and internal security policies, including data masking, encryption, and access controls.
  • Use dashboards and reporting tools to visualize governance metrics and analyze anomali, as well as provide alert when issues happen.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions to educate employees on data governance best practices, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and enhancement of data governance practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in data governance, data quality management, or related data analyst roles, preferably in regulated industries such as fintech, banking, or healthcare.
  • Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and protection laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, UU PDP) and industry standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to document policies clearly and engage with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, teamwork, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across departments.
  • Relevant data governance or data management certifications are a plus.
