Our Client is a multinational automotive company with a strong presence in global markets. Throughout its venture to expand operations in Indonesia, they are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead the legal function as Head of Legal and Government Relations team based in Jakarta.

Role Overview
As Head of Legal and Government Relations (Automotive Company) will play a critical role in overseeing all legal matters and managing relationships with government authorities to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and support the company's strategic objectives. This position requires a seasoned leader with deep expertise in corporate law, regulatory affairs, and stakeholder management within the automotive or related industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the legal department, providing strategic advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, contracts, and dispute resolution.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies that align with the company's business goals while ensuring adherence to local laws and regulations.
  • Represent the company in negotiations, litigation, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, and industry associations to advocate for favorable policies and regulations.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and advise senior management on potential impacts to the business.
  • Oversee risk management initiatives, including identifying legal risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations, including product launches and partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in law from a reputable university and licensed (PERADI).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate law, regulatory affairs, or government relations within the automotive or related industries.
  • Proven track record of managing complex legal matters and engaging with government authorities at senior levels.
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian laws and regulations relevant to the sector.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
  • Fluency in English is required.
