IT Manager for Hotel Operations

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the hotel's information technology systems and ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Alignment with Corporate Strategy
The IT Manager will ensure that all IT activities are aligned with the hotel's corporate accounting strategy, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
Representing IT on Executive CommitteeThe successful candidate will represent the IT function on the hotel's executive committee, providing strategic input and ensuring effective collaboration among departments.
Operations ManualsThe IT Manager will oversee the preparation and update of individual departmental operations manuals, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Communications and MeetingsRegular divisional communications meetings will be conducted by the IT Manager, who will also ensure that departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary.
Customer Service Focus- Brand Promise Delivery
The IT Manager will monitor that all hotel employees deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times, providing positive and constructive feedback as necessary to the respective Head of Department.
Internal Customer ServiceThe successful candidate will ensure that employees also provide excellent service to internal customers in other departments as appropriate.
Guest and Internal Customer ComplaintsThe IT Manager will handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to ensure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
Operational Excellence- Computer Technology Equipment
The IT Manager will ensure that all computer technology equipment runs with minimum or no downtime, taking proactive measures to prevent technical issues.
Software PerformanceThe successful candidate will ensure that all software runs with no output errors, no response time problems, and according to specification.
Reporting and Problem-SolvingA monthly report will be provided by the IT Manager, detailing key performance indicators and addressing any technical or operational problems as specified.
New Procedure ImplementationIn cooperation with other department heads, the IT Manager will design, document, and implement new computer-based procedures, ensuring seamless adoption by staff.
Application InstallationThe successful candidate will coordinate the installation of new applications, including new software releases, within the specified timeframe.
Software and Hardware ReleasesThe IT Manager will coordinate the installation of new software and hardware release levels for all computer technology, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Software DevelopmentIn consultation with the Area, Information System Coordinator, the IT Manager will decide whether to program applications in-house or partner with a third-party vendor.
Contract ManagementThe successful candidate will monitor all computer technology contracts and supervise the activities of outside maintenance personnel when they visit the hotel.
Accounting ResponsibilitiesThe IT Manager will serve as the primary contact for all outside agents in all computer technology-related matters.
24-Hour SystemsThe successful candidate will ensure that all 24-hour systems (e.g., front office, telephones, point of sales) are attended quickly, and all problems are solved as rapidly as possible.
Security and Operational ComplianceThe IT Manager will comply with company policies related to the security and operation of computer systems.
Training and DevelopmentThe successful candidate will train and assist in all aspects of their position's skills and responsibilities.
Shift Personnel TrainingThe IT Manager will identify and train suitable shift personnel to solve minor problems independently.
Spare Parts InventoryThe successful candidate will maintain forms and supplies a spare parts inventory for all computer system-related items.
Procedures DocumentationThe IT Manager will set up and document procedures related to security, system shut-downs, emergencies, operator entries, etc.
Technical Knowledge and SkillsThe successful candidate will keep up-to-date with trends and technical information in the hotel computer technology field through self-training, trade literature, and trade shows.
