The
**Director of Resource Development** is responsible for responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of fund development and oversees the Volunteer Program for Kauai Habitat for Humanity. Provide leadership on all fundraising initiatives including special events, donor cultivation, major gifts (financial & gifts in kind), planned giving, and sponsorship acquisition. Identify, organize and manage the fundraising activities of the affiliate with a focus on new possibilities to obtain ongoing and increased support from corporations, public and private funding organizations, faith communities, and individuals. The director works closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop an annual resource development plan that meets the organization’s program needs based on the annual budget.

**Responsibilities**
Create, implement, and maintain annual fund development plan.

Fund development operations including oversight, implementation and maintenance of annual fund activities, major giving program, communications, reporting, donor recognition, engagement, cultivation, and retention, coordination of fundraising events and cultivation events.

Create, implement and oversee annual planning for public relations, social media, marketing, advertising.

Perform prospect research on corporate, organizational, faith community, foundation, civic, and individual donors to determine sponsorships, gifts, grants, events, and collaborative activities in order to raise funds.

Make public appearances and presentations as required to engage supporters, solicit funding and sponsorship support (or assign to ED or board members).

Focus on retaining long-term donors and help to establish and maintain relationships with donors.

Set annual goals/plans and arrange major donor visits with and for Executive Director and Board members.

Oversee volunteer program manager and ensure smooth operation of Volunteer Program as well as cultivate volunteers as donors, and donors as volunteers.

Oversee and work with Grants Manager in researching, writing grants and related reporting needs.

Involve Board members and Resource Development Committee in affiliate fundraising through training and by reviewing donor lists with board members.

Create or arrange for appropriate materials and tools necessary for raising funds, brochures, annual reports, campaign materials, PowerPoint shows, videos, homeowner testimonials, etc.

Proven track record as nonprofit Development Officer or Development Director. Demonstrates ability to raise money through individual and corporate giving programs, including major gifts, membership programs, and sponsorships; special events; and grant writing. Planned giving/bequests/endowment experience is a plus.

Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, and communicate in a fast-paced, limited-resource environment.

Mission oriented - believes in and promotes Habitat’s mission and values and considers them as a framework for all professional decision-making and activities.

Experience with planning, managing, executing, monitoring, and evaluating projects.

Must be able to meet deadline and have exceptional verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills.

Strong leadership and motivational skills.

Database management experience and the ability to maintain accurate records and prepare timely and meaningful reports.

Team player/able to work collaboratively and effectively with and among diverse populations.

Must also be able to make decisions and solve problems independently and effectively.

**Requirements**:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.

Four or more years of nonprofit fund development experience. Habitat for Humanity or other nonprofit affordable housing organization experience preferred.

Superior analytical skills and ability to think strategically.

Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credentials.

Understanding of the national and international relationships of Habitat for Humanity.

Required U.S. work authorization (without sponsorship).

Requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, data analysis and reporting.

Required to lift 50 pounds or more.

Willing to work in inclement weather.

Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Dependable transportation.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually
