WhereIsMyTransport is an industry-leading technology company and central source of mobility and location data for emerging markets.

We are looking for a 10 x Data Collectors based in Bandung, Indonesia, for a 2 week contract doing a data collection project. You play the vital role of gathering information on the city's public transport system and network. Data Collectors map the different modes of transport and routes using the WhereIsMyTransport Collector app. They are responsible for the completeness, accuracy and quality of data, filling in all relevant fields of the app, and making enquiries to fill any gaps. Good attention to detail is a requirement for this role, in order to ensure the team collects the most complete and accurate representation of the public transport network.
**Overview of Key Responsibilities**:
Route Mapping
- Ride and gather information on formal and informal modes of public transport (the company will cover the fares).
- Download and use WhereIsMyTransport's Collector app to record designated data points, as outlined in the project brief.
- Adhere to rules and best practices relating to mapping a route as outlined in the project brief, including riding the vehicle from the starting point (origin) all the way to the final stop (destination).
- Provide daily feedback to the Field Team Manager on routes mapped, any discoveries or challenges faced.
- Proactively communicate knowledge of and insights into the local public transport network. Effectively communicate issues and concerns to the Field Team Manager.
- Record daily commute information, including fare spend.
- Effectively manage work-related funds and provide at least 48hrs notice if running low on funds for transport fares.
- Help adhere to a localised data collection plan. Manage time efficiently so that targets and deadlines are met.

Hub Surveys
- Travel to key transport hubs (e.g. station, rank, major stop) and investigate all modes of transport and routes that depart from or finish at this hub.
- Record data on the relevant transport routes, as outlined in the project brief, in a digital form.

**Requirements**:

- Must be available full-time (Monday - Saturday) for the full duration of the data collection project. Please note that overtime may be required and the role can be demanding.
- Computer literate and tech savvy, comfortable using custom tools and programmes.
- User of informal public transport, with an understanding of its operations.
- Strong written and verbal Bahasa communication skills.

Ideal, but not essential:

- Conversational level of written and spoken English.
- Basic understanding of spatial data.

You are required to be in possession of the following:

- Android phone (Version 6.0 or higher) with GPS capabilities (_not_ A-GPS).
- Minimum 500MB of free space on the device's internal storage (not on the SD card).
- Google Play Services and Store must be updated.
