We are looking for a Field Team Manager based in Bandung, Indonesia for a 2 week contract doing a data collection project. You will manage the activities and resources allocated to their assigned data collection project, ensuring the project is executed within budget, timelines, and produces the best quality data. Data collection work can often be unpredictable, with the team encountering unexpected challenges. Therefore you need to be resilient, calm and focused under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills.
**Overview of key responsibilities**:

- Help create and adhere to a localised data collection plan, timeline and calendar. Manage time efficiently so that targets and deadlines are met.
- Contribute to the planning and oversight of data collection and survey work. Help identify any transport hubs and routes that have not been identified in the work plan.
- Managing communication between the local data collection team and the wider WhereIsMyTransport team. Update on progress and any concerns, challenges or risks.
- Manage, record and track payments to data collectors, including funds for fares and mobile data. Ensure all payments to data collectors are made in a timely manner.
- Track and record the collection team's working days. Monitor performance by checking the completeness and quality of incoming data (including GPS signals, accuracy of fare amounts, completion and accuracy of dynamic fields, and so forth). Address and resolve under-performance where required.
- Data validation: Use our internal tool suite to review, clean and enrich where necessary data collected in the field. Ensure all data is correctly validated in a timely manner, keeping all field operating documents fully up-to-date throughout the project.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any issues, including technology bugs, that arise.
- Organise and lead training workshops where required and respond to queries from the data processing team and offer clarification on data collected.
- Communicate with public transport operators as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Must be available full-time (Monday - Saturday) for the full duration of the data collection project. Please note that overtime may be required.
- Strong written and spoken English language and Bahasa skills.
- Computer literate and tech savvy, comfortable using custom tools and programmes.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office / Google Suite tools, with a good understanding of Excel and Google Sheets.
- Familiarity with geo-spatial relationships and orientation tools (Google Maps, Google Earth, ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.), map and image interpretation.
- Previous project management experience. Experience working with teams larger than eight people.
- A rich understanding of the workings and operations of the local public transport industry.

You are required to be in possession of the following:

- Android phone (Version 6 or higher) with GPS capabilities.
- Possesses own laptop with sufficient memory and processing power to run tools and software: ideally have a Processor (5 fifth generation or higher - AMD equivalent also accepted) and Ram (16gigs or higher) with SSD drive.
- Most recent version of Chrome as browser.
