**Qualification**:

- A bachelor's degree in management, recreation, sports management, or a related field is typically required.
- Prior experience in recreation management, sports management, or a related field is usually required, with at least a few years of management experience.
- Knowledge of the sport or activity offered at the club, as well as an understanding of the needs of the members is important.
- Strong leadership and management skills are necessary to oversee the operations of the club and its staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to interact with members, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary to plan and coordinate events, programs, and activities.
- The ability to handle financial responsibilities, such as budgeting and record keeping is required.
- Strong customer service skills are necessary to respond to member inquiries and resolve issues.
- The ability to think creatively and come up with new ideas to attract and retain members is important.
- Strong marketing and promotion skills are necessary to increase visibility and membership.
- Certification in recreation management, sports management, or other related fields may be an asset.
- Some recreation manager positions may require physical fitness or the ability to pass a physical fitness test.
- Recreational managers work on different schedules which includes evenings, weekends and holidays.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- This includes creating and implementing programs and activities that will attract and retain members, as well as coordinating schedules, staffing and other logistics.
- Creating and managing budgets, monitoring and controlling expenses, and ensuring that the club operates within financial constraints.
- Supervising, training and developing staff, volunteers and contractors.
- Developing and implementing marketing and promotional strategies to increase visibility and membership.
- Communicating with members, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with the services provided.
- Ensuring that the club's facilities are well-maintained, safe and functional. This includes managing repairs, schedule maintenance, and equipment inventory.
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to the operation of the club, such as health and safety regulations, and ensuring that the club is insured.
- Maintaining accurate records of membership, finances, and other important information, and providing regular reports to the Board of Directors.
- Representing the club at community events and networking with other recreation managers and industry professionals to stay current on trends and developments in the field.
- Continuously evaluating and improving the club's programs, services and overall operations.
