**Financial Analyst, Just Energy Transition**

We are recruiting for a Financial Analyst to work alongside the Indonesian Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) secretariat and provide technical support to the secretariat on a fixed-term basis until 31st March 2025.

This activity forms part of the FCDO-funded UK PACT programme which has been providing ongoing technical assistance to the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) of Indonesia.

The JETP encompasses various types of projects such as coal-fired power plant retirements, renewable energy deployment and energy efficiency. The JETP secretariat plays a crucial role in producing the Comprehensive Investment and Policy, as well as coordinating with the IPG task force and the Government’s Task Force. As part of their work, JETP Secretariat are conducting a thorough study on energy efficiency and electrification (E3). The study will provide a list of potential energy efficiency and electrification projects with the aim to be published by the end of year, and be incorporated into their flagship planning document, the Comprehensive Investment and Policy Plan (CIPP 2023). The CIPP contains a roadmap for decarbonization based on JETP technical modelling, a list of potential projects that could benefit from the pledged funding, the breakdown of each funding pledged by the IPG including potential financial structures and models that could be deployed from the JETP funders, policy recommendations, and a just transition framework

The Financial Analyst will provide their expertise in conducting monitoring & evaluation in E3 financial matters, assisting the Finance Specialist in implementing financing strategies set forth in the CIPP both in E3 matters as well as other matters, including through origination of pipeline and screening investment opportunities. The expert is also expected to perform other project management support to drive the daily operational, content creation and implementation of different tasks done by the JETP secretariat.

The Financial Analyst will undertake tasks including, but not limited to the following:

- Support preparation of the E3 financing section of the CIPP updates, made in close collaboration with the Financing Working Group of the Indonesian JETP;
- Support preparation of some of the E3 policy subchapters that touches upon financing energy transition in Indonesia;
- Support the Finance Specialist in creating financing strategies and structures that would accelerate JETP E3 priority projects to reach financial close;
- Support necessary due diligence, financial modelling, risk analysis, and other appropriate forms of financial assistance to address financing gap in the JETP implementation phase;
- Monitor flow of funding for each of modalities as identified in the CIPP, including monitoring the funding against specific projects and maintain the monitoring framework on daily basis;
- Maintain websites content specifically in relation to financial/project monitoring
- Draft meeting minutes and action items for internal meetings, external focus group discussions, and public engagement events;
- Create slide contents to be presented during engagements with high-level stakeholders (ministers, ambassadors, institution leaders);
- Create visual reports to communicate targets, findings, and updates with high-level stakeholders;
- Working closely with the content specialist to manage and maintain website content; and;
- Working closely with the PMO and event coordination team to prepare content material for all JETP organized events

**Required Qualifications**:

- A strong academic background in finance, accounting, economics, business or related fields;
- Excellent appraisal and analytical ability, including the ability to understand, develop and interpret financial models for E3 projects;
- Excellent understanding of ESCO business models and other E3 business models
- Must have at proven experience delivering similar projects within the financial industry, banking, or consulting firms;
- Experience working in a management consultancy firm or in a fast-paced environment is highly preferable;
- A good understanding of the Indonesia energy transition landscape; direct experience in working in the energy and or finance sector is highly preferable
- A high proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace;
- Have the ability to articulate complex issues verbally and in writing in a concise manner in a complex institutional environment using English and Bahasa Indonesia; and
- Must have good analytical, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
