Support Teacher Assistant

**Schedule 1**:
**Position Title**

Support Teacher Assistant - ACG School Jakarta

**Reports To**

Vice Principal

**Location**

ACG School Jakarta

**Working hours**

7.30am - 4.00pm (Monday to Friday)

**Key Objectives of the Position**:

- To complete administrative tasks related to student learning and help ensure class efficiency
- To work collaboratively with the Class Teacher to maximise student learning outcomes
- To assist and support targeted student/s as required, in order for them to access the curriculum

**Teaching Techniques**
- To take responsibility for the learning environment and the conditions for orderly and effective teaching
- To prepare resource materials as required

**Administration**
- Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries or damage
- Organise and label materials, and display students’ work in an appropriate manner
- Assist in handover students during school hour finish with parents / drivers / Nanny with younger children
- Act as a chaperone in the school bus during pick up or drop off students as required
- Provide students with assistance accessing technology and school facilities
- Requisition and stock teaching materials and supplies
- Type, file and photocopy materials
- Use computers, audio-visual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations
- Supervise students in classrooms, halls, canteen, outdoors, and gymnasiums, or on school trips
- And to perform all other duties as may reasonably be required by the teachers or Senior Teacher - ACG School Jakarta

**Teaching Support**
- To provide in-class support for students as directed by the Class/Specialist Teacher
- To be an active participant in student learning and have high expectations
- To work co-operatively and collaboratively with all teaching staff and assist them as directed e.g. working independently in small groups, enriching the learning environment, taking attendance, checking books in and out of the library, checking communication books etc.
- To accompany the student/s during all Specialist lessons, school trips or school events inside or outside the school, where necessary
- To ensure student safety during play breaks, lunch, PE and swimming
- To communicate with parents as required, or directed by the Teacher
- To perform all other duties as may reasonably be required by the teachers and the Senior Teacher - ACG School Jakarta

**Student Management**
- To provide learning experiences which maximize academic progress
- To manage student behavior effectively
- To support the School standards in relation to student behavior

**Motivation of Students**
- To encourage independence and responsibility in learning and behavior and be positive role models
- To provide additional academic and pastoral support as needed for students

**Effective Communication**
- To report to and meet with parents as required
- To action promptly, thoroughly and accurately the completion of required returns, forms or procedures
- To maintain an attendance record as required

**Homeroom/Advisor Responsibilities**
- To provide oversight of students within the assigned group
- To communicate with parents as required
- To complete administration tasks as required in relation to these responsibilities.

**Personal Specifications**:
**To be successful you will have**:

- Previous experience in the education sector (desirable)
- Relevant tertiary qualification (required)
- A high level of analytical skills, systems/data analysis and a strong attention to detail
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong ethical and moral values
- Ability to meet deadlines
