Job Overview

The Data Engineer & Steward plays a pivotal role in managing the flow of data across multiple platforms and ensuring data integrity within the IT Infra department. This position involves working closely with various teams to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and integration points that support critical business functions.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines to facilitate the transfer and transformation of data across systems.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by establishing data stewardship practices and governance.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data integration processes, resolving any issues that arise.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, processes, and data models to ensure clarity and compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data management.
Key Qualifications
  • Education: Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Level: Senior Staff, demonstrating aptitude for leading technical initiatives and projects.
Required Experience

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role, with a proven track record of successful data integration and management projects.

Required Skills and Competencies
  • Programming: Proficient in Python and Java for data management and manipulation tasks.
  • Data Integration Tools: Experience with tools such as Apache Airflow, Talend, and SSIS for orchestrating data workflows.
  • Databases: Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server, including database design and query optimization.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with Git and GitHub for managing code versions and collaboration.
Additional Requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a willingness to work in a collaborative team environment are essential. Candidates should also have a proactive approach to learning new technologies and adapting to changing priorities.
