Our Client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Legal to lead their legal function and provide strategic counsel across our complex business operations, with a strong focus on the energy and renewable energy industry. The successful candidate will be a critical member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing all legal matters, including sophisticated M&A transactions, regulatory compliance, legal operations, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
1. Legal Strategy & Counsel
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to senior leadership and cross-functional teams on all critical business initiatives, legal risks, and corporate governance matters.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive legal strategy that aligns with the company's growth objectives in the energy and renewable energy sectors.
  • Act as the primary legal representative for the company in high-stakes environments and complex, multi-party transactions.
2. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Corporate
  • Lead the legal handling of M&A transactions, including deal structuring, due diligence, drafting, negotiation, and closing.
  • Oversee and manage complex corporate legal issues, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
3. Regulatory & Compliance
  • Possess a deep understanding of regulatory requirements related to energy, power projects, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure the company's operations adhere to all applicable compliance frameworks and governance processes.
  • Manage and lead all interactions with government bodies and regulatory institutions.
4. Legal Operations & Management
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills with experience managing a legal team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Manage external counsels, optimizing their performance and ensuring cost-effective service delivery.
  • Manage and control legal budgets and implement strategies to optimize legal workflows.
  • Oversee contract lifecycle management as part of a strong background in legal operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10+ years of professional legal experience, with at least 5 years in the energy or renewable energy industry.
  • Proven experience handling M&A transactions, including deal structuring, due diligence, drafting, negotiation, and closing.
  • Strong background in legal operations, including contract lifecycle management, compliance frameworks, and governance processes.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements related to energy, power projects, and infrastructure.
  • Experience interacting with government bodies and regulatory institutions.
  • Strong ability to provide strategic legal counsel to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Ability to manage external counsels, control legal budgets, and optimize legal workflows.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a legal team.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stakes environments with complex, multi-party transactions.
