About the role

PT. Unichem Malindo Raya is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Medan, North Sumatra. As a contract role, this position will play a crucial part in supporting the company's financial accounting and reporting functions. You will leverage your expertise in Financial Accounting & Reporting to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and statements.

What you'll be doing

  1. Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  2. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  3. Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate any discrepancies
  4. Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial analyses
  5. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations
  6. Provide support and guidance to the finance team, helping to build their capabilities
  7. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient accounting practices

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting and reporting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  2. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including a thorough understanding of Indonesian Accounting Standards (SAK)
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends
  4. Proficiency in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel, SAP)
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  6. Commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to addressing issues
  7. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
