Effluent Lab Technician

Job Desc:

• Conduct in-process mill effluent sampling (bleach plant, recovery cycle, pulp washing, etc.).

• Record test results in LIMS or logbooks.

• Prepare daily/weekly effluent quality reports.
• Flag deviations and communicate with ETP operators & environmental engineers.
• Assist in regulatory reporting to environmental authorities.
• Maintain chemical inventories and prepare reagents.

• Ensure quality control through standard solutions, blanks, and duplicate tests.

• Ensure all testing meets environmental standards (e.g., local Pollution Control Board norms).

• Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals and biological samples.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, Microbiology, or related field.
• 5 years' experience in wastewater laboratory or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in lab testing.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and wastewater treatment processes.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and procedures.
