Laboratory Reagent Technician

Job Description:

• Prepare chemical and biological reagents according to SOPs, protocols, or formulation sheets.
• Measure, dilute, and mix reagents with high accuracy using analytical balances, pipettes, and volumetric tools.
• Label reagents properly with batch numbers, expiry dates, and storage conditions.
• Maintain detailed records of reagent preparation in logbooks or digital systems (LIMS).
• Perform quality checks on prepared reagents (e.g., pH, appearance, concentration verification).
• Monitor reagent inventory and report low-stock items.
• Ensure proper storage of reagents according to required temperature and safety conditions.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain preparation areas, glassware, and equipment.
• Follow laboratory safety protocols, including chemical handling and waste disposal.
• Assist in validating or updating reagent preparation procedures when needed.
• Support general lab activities as required.

Requirements:

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Medical Laboratory Technology, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in chemical preparation or related field.
• Strong Knowledge of chemical handling, preparation, and safety protocols.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in following procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong organizational skills, including maintaining accurate records and inventory.
• Ability to adapt to changing chemical formulas or production requirements.
• Understanding of lab safety standards and regulatory compliance.
