Site Mining Superintendent

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
• Strong understanding of ore quality control, moisture management, and nickel blending strategies
• Experience with RKEF or HPAL supply chain coordination is an advantage
• Skilled in mining software such as Surpac, Minescape, or Micromine
• Proven leadership and ability to manage multiple mining contractors
• Strong commitment to safety in high-rainfall, laterite mining environments
• Willing to work on a roster schedule in remote nickel mining sites

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily nickel mining operations, ensuring target tonnage and grade compliance
• Coordinate closely with Geology for ore spotting, grade control, and ore-loss minimization
• Oversee laterite ore extraction, dozing, loading, and hauling activities
• Supervise ore blending, stockpile management, and feeding plans for the processing plant (HPAL/RKEF)
• Ensure contractor performance meets nickel mining standards and KPIs
• Monitor moisture content, ore segregation, and delivery scheduling
• Implement rigorous safety policies in challenging nickel laterite terrains
• Review production data and propose operational improvements
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly mining reports specific to nickel operations
• Maintain pit design integrity, haul road safety, and equipment cycle efficiency
• Coordinate with Processing/Plant teams for consistent ore quality
• Support cost control initiatives related to fuel, equipment, and contractor operations
