Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's (S1) in Geology/Geological Engineering; Master's (S2) would be great.
  • Experience: 5+ years in mining geology, exploration, resource modeling.
  • Technical Skills: Geology modeling software (Leapfrog, Micromine, Datamine), data processing, resource reporting standards (JORC/KCMI), QA/QC.
  • Certifications: POP, POM, Competent Person (CP) certifications are often required or valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop exploration & development objectives, annual work plans (RKAB), and long-term strategies.
  • Exploration Management: Oversee drilling, mapping, data validation, and commissioning of equipment.
  • Modeling & Estimation: Create geological models, process data, and estimate resources (JORC, KCMI compliant).
  • Data & Reporting: Interpret data, manage grade control, ensure compliance, and produce technical reports.
  • Team Leadership: Lead geology teams, build local capacity, and mentor cross-cultural staff.
  • Mine Integration: Link geological models with mine planning and processing design for optimization.
