We are looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team

Teaching and Learning:

  • Plan, design and deliver English Language and Literature curriculum effectively, aligned with school curriculum.
  • Demonstrate expertise in English Language and Literature, ensuring alignment with the latest educational standards and practices.
  • Develop critical thinking and analytical skills by engaging students with a diverse range of literary texts and media, fostering a deeper understanding of language.
  • Build positive relationships with students, recognizing their profound impact on learning outcomes.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to address diverse learning needs, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor and support student progress, ensuring feedback is timely, constructive, and aligned with IB practices.
  • Encourage student agency by involving learners in classroom decision-making and providing clear goals, processes, and behavioral expectations.

Collaborative Curriculum Development:

  • Work collaboratively with leadership teams, grade level teams, and other subject teachers to align learning experiences with the transdisciplinary themes.
  • Embed assessment practices that are authentic, improve learning, and make expectations clear to students.
  • Promote interdisciplinary links and inquiry-driven learning that encourages students to connect concepts to real world experiences.

Classroom Environment and Resource Management:

  • Create a stimulating and organized classroom environment that reflects student learning and inquiry.
  • Incorporate technology effectively into the curriculum to enhance learning outcomes and engage students.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages inquiry and respect.

Assessment and Reporting:

  • Apply a range of formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor student progress.
  • Ensure assessment is authentic, embedded in everyday learning, and aligned with clear expectations shared with students.
  • Collaborate with the Student Support Team, implementing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and supporting students' diverse needs.

Community and Student Engagement:

  • Foster a school culture of respect, identity, and pride among students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Actively participate in decision making processes, school improvement initiatives, and collaborative planning meetings.
  • Support school events, enrichment programs, and extracurricular activities, contributing to the school's vibrant community spirit.
  • Supervise students during designated times, including morning duty, break, lunch, and special activities.

Professional Development and Professional Responsibilities:

  • Participate actively in professional development, accepting and acting on professional feedback.
  • Share expertise and innovative strategies with colleagues through in school training, collaborative planning, and professional learning communities.
  • Perform other related duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by Leadership Team.

III. Job Requirement

  • Demonstrates flawless verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to model academic language and engage in nuanced discussions with students and parents fluently.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree  in English Education/language, Literature, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification/license required.
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience  in English Language or Literature in a reputable/International standard school.
  • IB teaching experience or prior work in an IB World School experience will be considered as an advantage.
  • Completion of IB Category 1, 2, or 3 Professional Developments will be considered as an advantage.
  • Willingness to teach English as an Additional Language (EAL) is advantageous.
  • Skilled in employing contemporary educational models and instructional strategies to enhance curriculum delivery and student learning outcomes.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
